Emirates has announced it will be the official airline of the Irish Open in Portrush.
In the last 12 months Emirates have shown themselves to be keen patrons of sport having sponsored an event or team in nearly every sport there is; from football to sailing and everything in between.
The 2015 Irish open, will take place in the spectacular surrounds of the Royal Portrush Golf Club, from the 28th of June – 1st of July.
The tournament is set to feature home grown favourites and major champions Rory Mcllroy, Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke, along with a great array of the world’s finest golfers.
Emirates said that this sponsorship which includes course branding, tournament hospitality and advertising, is a further demonstration of Emirates’ commitment to Ireland following the highly successful launch of its Dublin service which offered direct flights to Dubai from the 9th of January.
Commercial director of the Irish Open, James Finnigan said:
“Emirates is a world-class partner that brings added global exposure and prestige to the Irish Open.”
“This event has massive appeal, attracting audiences from all over the world, so it’s appropriate that a like-minded sponsor with an extensive global reach and a strong foothold in golf is on-board.”
Salem Obaidalla, of Emirates, added:
“We have entered into another major sponsorship, supporting sport in Ireland and connecting with golf enthusiasts around the world.”
This is the latest in a string of sponsorship deals for Emirates and it seems like the airline’s astronomical growth over the last two decade shows no signs of slowing down.
